Spectrophotometric Determination of Ammonia in Inorganic Compounds

چکیده

Nitrogen constitutes 78.09% by volume of dry unpolluted air, but it is a minor element with respect to its abundance in the earthj:"crust. Atmospheric nitrogen forms an important raw material for the economical synthesis of bulk chemicals of industrial importance, viz. ammonia, urea, nitrate, nitrite etc. Therefore, estimation of ammonia and its derivatives assumes a great importance for chemical industry. Traditionally..,ammonia has been estimated by direct titration with an acid. Kjeldahl method based on the conversion of nitrogen containing organic compounds to ammonium ion, is in use since 1883. The procedure is time proven for the determination of nitrogen in wide variety of chemical compounds. The various methods for the analysis of ammonia include titrimetric, spectrophotometric and chromatographic technique.

A Rapid Automated System for the Analysis of Dissolved Total Organic Nitrogen in Aqueous Solutions

-An automated system for the analysis of dissolved organic nitrogen has been developed and applied to natural waters. It is based on subjecting sample to u.v. irradiation followed by a heterogeneous reduction of the nitrogen containing irradiation products to ammonia which is detected by an ammonia gas sensing probe. Quantitative recoveries of different organic nitrogen compounds common to natu...

Construction and evaluation of an automated flow injection-stopped flow analyser for multipoint reaction rate spectrophotometric methods. Determination of ammonia nitrogen, creatinine and phosphate

The construction and evaluation of a fully automated Flow Injection-Stopped Flow (FI-SF) spectrophotometric analyser is described. A microcomputer (Rockwell AIM 65) is used to control the analyser (sample injection, stop and start of the pump) through a suitable interface. Data acquisition is achieved using a 12 bit ADC card and a suitable subroutine in 6502 assembly language, allowing data sam...

Adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) applied for spectrophotometric determination of fluoxetine and sertraline in pharmaceutical formulations and biological fluid

The UV-spectrophotometric method of analysis was proposed for simultaneous determination of fluoxetine (FLX) and sertraline (SRT). Considering the strong spectral overlap between UV-Vis spectra of these compounds, a previous separation should be carried out in order to determine them by conventional spectrophotometric techniques. Here, full-spectrum multivariate calibrations adaptive neuro-fuzz...

BACKGROUND Ascorbic acid is one of the most important vitamins to monitor in dietary sources (juices and vitamins) and biological liquids. RESULTS Silica and silica-titania xerogels doped with Mo,P-heteropoly compounds (HPC) have been synthesized varying titanium(IV) and HPC content in sol. Their surface area and porosity have been studied with nitrogen adsorption and scanning electron micros...
